Title:   Injection Molding Process for High-Rate Manufacturing of Micro and Nano Featured Stamps for Micro and Nano Featured Stamps for Microcontact Printing
Inventor:   Joey Mead
Summary:   Stamps for micro-contact are produced by applying a commercial microinjection molding a thermoplastic elastomer in a silicon mold. The production of stamp is labor and time intensive due to the extra time needed for cooling and manual peeling of the stamps from the silicon mold. This novel methodology is faster, more accurate and much more suited of industrial use than the current method of casting a self curing polymer composition. The invention is not limited to any particular method of fabrication, or any particular mold material and machine; although our method of mold fabrication and the material used, present significant advantages and the finished molds are very similar to the silicon ‘masters’ used in fabricating conventional micro-contact printing stamps.
