Title:   Novel Polymer - Protein Substrate for Immunosorbant Fluorescent Assays
Inventor:   Melisenda McDonald
Summary:   The invention is an innovative novel polymer-protein substrate to be used for immunofluorescent assays. This novel system yields a four- to six-times increase in sensitivity level over traditional polystyrene plates, commonly used in immunofluorescent assays. We believe this system will allow detection of test articles at significantly lower concentrations than current high performance assays. Additionally, the advantage of this system is the capability of aligning capture antibodies while retaining their biological function making it an ideal application for use in miniaturized assays. This system uses a combination of polymer substrate and a specific kind of protein; both of them utilize commonly available and inexpensive material.
