IP Type:   Licensable Technology
Title:   Radiation Curable Polyisobutylenes
Inventor:   Rudolf Faust
Summary:   The researchers have discovered crosslinked, radiation-curable polymers, and a method of preparing the crosslinked radiation-curable polymers. The method teaches reacting the radiation-curable, (substituted or unsubstituted alkyls, hetero-cycloalkyl, and others) polymers in the presence of a cationic photoinitiator (onium salts, diaryliodonium salt of sulfonic acid, triarylsulfonium salt of sulfonic acid, diaryliodonium salt of boric acid, or triarylsulfonium salt of boric acid) and radiation to form covalent bonds with other heterocyclic end groups, thereby forming crosslinks.
