ID:   UML 03-16
IP Type:   Licensable Technology
Title:   New thermoplastic elastomeric compostions based on polyisobutylene and poly(vinyl ethers)
Inventor:   Rudolf Faust
Summary:   The inventors have conceived of a process for the living cationic polymerization of t-butyl vinyl ether and tert-butyldimethylsilyl vinyl ether (SiVE) and their block copolymerization with polyisobutylene or poly(vinyl ethers) by sequential monomer addition. Certain ABA-type tri-block copolymers are also disclosed, where A is polyisobutylene, and B is polystyrene or other styrenics. Certain ABA-type tri-block copolymers are also disclosed, where A is polyisobutylene, and B is polystyrene or other known styrenics.
