IP Type:   Licensable Technology
Title:   Approaches for Inexpensive, Sheet-to-Sheet Manufacturing of Dye Sensitized Nanoparticle Based Solar Modules
Inventor:   Kethinni Chittibabu
Summary:   The researchers have discovered methods for producing novel photovoltaic cells at relatively low temperatures (150C) by contacting semiconductor materials with a cross-linking agent and incorporating these particles into a substrate, where the crosslinking agent may be an organometallic molecule; and where multiple, electrically interconnected substrates may be coated with a polyelectrolyte. A dye coating of the semiconductor also allows light to activate an oxidation functionality, creating a flow of electrons, and a subsequent reduction so that a continuous electrical energy is created.
