Title:   Apparatus for Pressure Regulation of Polymer Melts
Inventor:   David Kazmer
Summary:   The quality of a molded product depends on the levels of pressure that are applied to the polymer melt. This invention presents a method and a device for controlling the pressure of a melt in an apparatus for processing molten materials. The patent pending methods and devices utilize a self-regulating valve that is effective in regulating melt pressure through a melt flow channel. This valve can be adjusted in a way that it maintains an equilibrium between a control force applied to a control member and a dynamic force applied to the control member by the melt pressure of a melt flowing through a melt flow channel.
